I am so happy!!

I am super happy!!
I applied to be part of the Summer Darkness fashion show from Mfashion, and I can take part in it! I never expected this, it is so nice. The best thing is that other lolitas I know also take part in the fashion show: Catherine, Rosalyn, Tamara, Renske and Josine! I can't believe it! I am sure it will be lots of fun! There is an 'official' practice day. I am of course a little bit nervous, but also very excited. I am really looking forward to Summer Darkness this year! It will be a lot different than before. Before, I always went partying with friends! I loved to see the bands performance. But this year, I am tight on money and the bands that perform aren't my favorite. Even though it was lots of fun with Gijs the previous year, I will now be able to experience Summer Darknness in the 'lolita' way and attend the modeshow and picknick. I've never done that so I'm really looking forward to it ^^

PIXLRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I am enraged right now. It is because of Pixlr.
I was innocently making a VERY GOOD drawing of a Rammstein My Little Pony. It was perfect, it looked like all the band members in 1 and still like a My Little Pony from Friendship is Magic.
BUT......THEN THAT GODDAMN PIECE OF MOLD SHIT TTRAAAASSHHH FROM HELL Pixlr crashed!!!!
I googled and there were actually people that made a post on the Pixlr customer service whatever boards that sounded polite. Using the words I am very upset Pixlr crashed.
UPSET?!!! I can not understand that person and this understatement!! Why would you post ANYTHING on that stupid forum that is not a 5 pages long curse word poem?!
If that wasn't some sort of extremely sarcastic hidden-message post that can be read backwards as: Be prepared. I know where your office is. I will bring my machine gun , I don't know it anymore.
I just don't understand how people can still be polite when some dumb online tool has just sadistically destroyed efforts of an hour or so. Let alone more hours. I don't have a tablet, you know. It is difficult for me!
I can't believe such a dick sucking worthless shit application still exists, and I mean it. If you happen to read this and you work for Pixlr: I will never forgive you, asshole! NEVER!!!!
raaahhhh I know this is trivial, I KNOW but I can get sooooooooooooo angry about such things.

PS: I downloaded Sai Paint Tool, Lord bless Sai Paint tool, and my new Rammpony is also very cute and even better than the previous one.

A picture of yourself taken today and 3 good things that happened the past 30 days.

I look angry, because I am very angry at the moment! More about it in the next post.
anyway, the 3 good things:

#1 I learned to finish something
#2 I got to see Rammstein with friends (nothing to do with this meme)
#3 I went to the Eigentijds Festival (nothing to do with this meme)

One song that fits your favorite lolita style

There is no country lolita song SO:

Your Facebook profile picture

Your favorite lolita themed artwork

Everything from Keiichi Kunishige <3 His artwork was what made me discover lolita nine years ago, and I still love it. It is so mysterious, somewhat creepy - even though the lolita style he drew is a bit oldschool now, the drawings never aged. There is something about his art that still hyponotizes me. The creepiness is something I find modern gothic/old school lolita coordinates to be lacking. I hope I can pull of a Keiichi Kunishige inspired coord one day! :D

A picture of you from a meet

It was a tiny picture (didn't took it), so bad quality, sorry! Anyway, I still think it looks kind of magical ^^

A picture of your handwriting

Done with touch thing on my laptop because I'm lazy.
Happy, meme creator?

A picture of your room

Tidy, isn't it? Ha ha

Your favorite fictional lolita

Well, we do not have much choice there, do we? It is either Momoko from Kamikaze girls, Miwako from Paradise Kiss, Yuki from Gothic & Lolita Psycho or some interchangeable girl from Doll. I decided to be original and my favorite fictional lolita is.... *drumroll*

Yuki from Gothic & lolita psycho. A confession: I haven't even seen the movie! I wanted to buy it for a meet, but Catherine deemed it to bloody. I only saw some trailer clips on Youtube, but maybe I'll organize a "Gothic & lolita psycho movie meet" in the future, lol.

A picture of a lolita friend

Me with Catherine! <3 (From Mcduffblog)
I learned to know Catherine because she send me a message on the, now dead, Dutch lolita forum, whether I went to the Fly away fashion party too, as a lolita from Almere. I said yes. When I attended the tea party, I talked with everyone except Catherine. I expected her to talk to me because she had sent me a message and she didn't. It was probably irrational of me because there was no way of her recognizing me (or was there? I can't remember sending her a photo), but I saw her as a stuck-up bitch and decided not to talk to her either. Untill she happened to be in the Fly Away shop by coincidence too and we talked. I realized she came over as a nice girl, more shy than stuck-up. Because she and Rowan, another lolita from Almere, needed to go the same way my mother drove them home, too. It was close and enjoyable, the tree of us chatted the whole way home. Later, Catherine invited me to Rowans tea party and I also met the other lolitas from Almere, who were super nice too. I am still grateful that Catherine made me get to know my local lolita community. Not only that, but one day I was bullied - almost harassed at Behind the Bows. They were calling me a psycho bitch and stuff and said they were goinng to inform my local lolita community and persuate them to never contact me again! I send Catherine a mail that I wanted her to know the Behind the bows argument before she heard it from someone else, and that I understood it when she never wanted to see me again. But Catherine called me and said it wasn't the case. I was in tears because I didn't want to lose Catherine and my local lolita community, they mean a lot to me! Fortunately Catherine chosed my side instead of that of the mean bitches. I am still thankful for her trust in me! I may be a few years older than Catherine, but I hope that we stay friends and that I get to attend every meeting she organizes in the future. Right now I'm saving up for her meet in Amsterdam , I think it will be so much fun! Thank you for being my lolita friend, Catherine <3

What's in your makeup bag?

#1 Etos eyelash serum. I am not very convinced by the claims eyelash serums usually make, yet I seem to buy every new one that doesn't have glaucoma drugs in it. This newest addition works surprisingly well. Or rather, surprisingly well for something that most of the time doesn't work at all. With this one, I can see the same "results" as with other, more expensive eyelash serums. Which means probably that there is no effect at all, but I swear my eyelashes sometimes look longer after faithfully applying this daily. Was cheap, so will buy again.
#2 Lip fusion lip pencil. I bought this long ago for a third of the original (expensive) price on Ebay, and I still haven't used it up. I just don't wear lip pencil. However, I should wear it more as a lipstick since it is not drying like other lip pencils. No 'plumping effect', though.
#3 Miss Sporty eyeliner. I bought this cheap product years ago when liquid eyeliners were still new. There is still product left and it hasn't dried out, although the brush is somewhat deformed now. Although it smudges/fades rather quickly, I like this eyeliner because of the good color payoff.
#4 Essence tweeze. I like to use it at bus stops.
#5 Catrice gel eyeliner. I was very fascinated by the gel eyeliner thing, so when it popped up in the aisle of affordable and not on animals tested Catrice cosmetics, I had to try it. The color payoff and staying power are great, although it can be messy to apply and requires practice.
#6 Essence gel blush. And now in 2013, the gel blush is a new thing that is copied by Essence (another cheap brand not tested on animals) and I choosed it as a birthday gift from my friend ^^. This one looks bright red but shows pink on the cheeks, very Juliette et Justine-like. The staying power is good.
#7 Fusion beauty blush. This is a very pretty, sparkly peachy cream blush with subtile glitter I bought for about one third of the (expensive) price on Ebay -if you have a favorite cosmetics brand that is expensive, check out Ebay. The staying power is ok, but the best thing about it is that it is made with skin conditioning ingredients,so if you really don't want to remove your makeup at night it is no problem with this blush. It also claims to make your cheeks fuller and when I used it very often I could swear my cheekbones looked better, lol.
#8 The brush for the gel eyeliner
#9,10 automatic eyeliner pencils by NYX in white and brownish green. NYX is a cheap  brand but the cosmetics have great color payoff and are gentle for the skin, and they are not tested on animals. Love these eyeliners.
#11 Max Factor mascara. Got it for free somewhere, and it is decent.
#12 Catrice lash+ mascara. Claimed to boost eyelash growth. That didn't work but it was a nice mascara untill it started clumping.
#13 Catrice lipgloss. This is so pigmented! Almost like lipstick, but with a glossy shine. Perfect for gothic lolita looks.

A picture of your favorite lolita style

Do I really need to choose?? I love a lot of styles: sweet, classic, country, hime, gothic, oldschool..
If I have to pick a style though, it would definitely be country lolita.

There are several reasons why I like this style the best. It is a sort of compromis between sweet and classic lolita. It is more modest than sweet lolita, yet more playful than classic. It is elegant yet not too stiff, and remiscent of youth yet not too childish. The colors are bright and cheerful. You can wear an outfit made by a sweet brand one day and an outfit put out by a classic brand the next, which makes the style versatile and less boring. You can even make a great oldschool coordinate with it. If you are tight on money, country lolita  clothes are probably the easiest ones to makes since fabrics with strawberries, cherries, flowers and gingham aren't too hard to find, and strawhats, baskets and hair flowers are neither.

Some people say country lolita is not a real substyle, but more a theme. Yet it is covered in most "style guides", along with sailor. I also think it is more a substyle than a theme since certain prints (strawberries, cherries, gingham) and accessoiries (straw hats and fruit baskets) like mentioned before, instantly remind you more of the country side than of the main style (sweet, classic), and it is often very different to tell which main style country lolita pieces belong to anyway..
A negative thing about country lolita is that the look is hard to pull off in the winter. However, I think this guide does the best job so far to make winter outfits still recognizeable as country lolita.

What do you want more than anything right now?

Finishing my thesis. I am trying to finish it for two years now and I'm really done with it. This is a boring one, I know. Also, being happy with my life and not so terrified of ageing and death.

Your outfit for the day

Skirt: Metamorphose fruit punch soda series, luckypack version
Blouse: Metamorphose
Socks: Metamorphose fruit punch
Headband: Metamorphose fruit punch
Bag: Metamorphose fruit punch
Cardigan: offbrand (Wonder woman) it has bows on it ^^ but you can't see itShoes: Bodyline

Flower shoe clips: An tai na
Umbrella: offbrand, Ebay, customized with Bodyline ribbon

This outfit is probably the one that has transformed my local status into town freak for good, but whatever. I really like it since the skirt and socks were a Christmas present from my parents. I wear a lot of casual clothes too, so I picked out this day to make an outfit shot for this blog on purpose. I am  having an appointment in about an hour with two of my local Lolita friends today, which is going to be super fun!!! Fortunately it is no closeup so you can't see the bags under my eyes. Yesterday my already thin, dark and wrinkle prone undereye area really suffered, I went to the funeral of a family friend (widow of my mothers nephew). She and my mothers nephew unfortunately passed away very suddenly because of an aggressive form of cancer. The funeral was very beautiful, but of course also sad. Later that day I had the brilliant idea of taking 10 ritalin pills that I had still left after the unsuccesfull experiment  with it as aid for concentration. As always I finally felt happy instead of my normal indifferent zombie like state, but with a price: being wide awake the whole night minus 2 hours or so. When I looked in the mirror I had the undereye area of a seventy year old, but luckily I kind of minimised the damage with eyecream so I can safely go outside without scaring kids.

A picture of your last lolita purchase

Gothic lolita bible 35
I mainly bought it because of the skirt pattern thats in it, since I have cute fabric left and my mom offered to help me with sewing my own lolita clothes. I also got a sewing book for lazy sewers for my birthday with surprisingly simple patterns for amazing dresses that look very Liz Lisa and some lolita esque. So I hope to finish some cute sewing projects this year!
Also, like my other GLB it has lots of pretty photos, great for inspiration. I have almost all GLBs downloaded on my computer but browsing a magazine is much nicer.

A picture of your dream item

Metamorphose Vintage record op in black
Probably hard to find and I currently don't have the money, but I hope to own it one day. I sold the navy high waisted version. I don't regret it, but I miss the print, it's so cute. :P

A picture of your favorite sweets

"Zwartwit" When my mother puts them in the car she has one extra for me and sometimes it is finished in one car ride. Now I started eating them at home too.

A picture of yourself before lolita came into your life

A tiny bit boring, but not neccessarily bad, I'd say.

One day in your lolita life in pictures

I stroke or play with our cats everyday. Aren't they cute when they are sleeping?

Sometimes I sit in the garden

For my birthday I got an easy sewing book targeted at lazy sewers so I hope to learn it someday

I like to watch movies based on books by Jane Austen and Novala Takemoto  about all sorts of things  with my parents. Today (my birthday) I watched "Deuce Bigalow, male gigolo". It is a really fun movie.
I also need to study and find a job, but that's not fun to make a picture of.

What's in your bag?

Ok, this was a really fun one for me.

#1 An empty bottle of 5-HTP pills. They were expensive and useless.
#2 Paperwork.
#3 Notebook
#4 Hello sweetie fake Hello kitty case I bought in Spain. Very handy and cute.
#5 (almost invisible) breath freshener I got for free that I keep in case of emergency.
#6 It seems I have almost always one or two empty packages of Daro retard capsules in my bag.
#7 A Daro alarm clock I got because I purchased so much Daro. The saleswomen don't really care whether you really have a cough or not, you don't even have to fake like you are coughing.
#8 Cheapass sugarfree energy drink. I love this. Look at the energy bolt design, it's hilarious.
#9 Plastic yellow mini penguin I found on the street
#10 Miscelennious present for my parents' 25 year marriage in July
#11 Japanese lip balm I have for around a year or two years now, still not used up. Although it is decent
#12 The best lipstick ever: Rimmel moisture renew. Bought on Ebay for 2 euro so that may play a part, but it is the only lipstick that doesn't make my lips look dry and wrinkled like a 90 year old and even has hyluronic acid and collagen in it.
#13 I need to use this because I sweat super easily
#14 Glitter spray. Very handy for spraying glitter. I confused this with my deoderant, as they both look the same. I discovered this when I was wondering at night why my armpits were so glittery.

And the rest:

Next to another deoderant and energy drink, some vague shit I don't even know what it is myself

10 things you will never do in lolita

#1 Sitting on a dirty ground
#2 Eat foods without a plate
#3 Being unpolite to strangers
#4 Refusing a picture taken (unless it is asked in a mocking way)
#5 Acting like a bitch to others lolitas (unless it is to someone I hate)
#6 Wearing something that doesn't match (as far as I can tell)
#7 Take out my piercings because that is "more lolita"
#8 Cover my scarification in sunny days because that is "more lolita"
#9 Having half-arsed done hair (I really need to practice doing my hair and wear my wigs when I get them)
#10 Wearing no makeup when going to a meet

10 songs that inspire you for lolita

#1 Candy candy - Kyary
When I first heard it, I thought: "What kind of idiot likes a song with a "songtext" like that? Candy, candy candy candy candy sweetie girls love *song stuck in head* Oh crap! I think I like it! It'is cute..It's so cute and catchy!"

#2. Hot pink champagne cotton candy makeover - Sarah G
This song instantly reminds me of lolita and the "age limit" question

#3. Lolita komplex - Dance with me
This band has the name Lolita in it and apparently, it involves singers dressed in lolita as well, but it seems to be an assemblage of all kinds of weird things, LOL! Since I like weird things, I kind of like it.

# 4. Namie Amuro - Namies style
Namie Amuro has such great, catchy songs!

# 5. Edvin Marton - Panis angelicus
The breathtaking song that was used by the Marui One Victorian Maiden fashion show

#6. Kaggra - Ao no souretsu
I've loved this song since I first got into lolita fashion. It's awesome.

#7. Garbage - Dir en grey
LOL ok I'm not a gothic lolita, but I have a confession: I've tried listening to Moi-même-Moitié, but I sort of fell asleep during it. I mean, ok, it sounds very classical and all, but I prefer my music to either be sugarly sweet or decent rock, but not something in between. Same for Versailles and The GazettE, but I was probably too impatient (like I always am ;)) and missed the good songs because I dropped out too quickly. But anyway, I like Dir en grey much better

#8. Laura Jansen - Wicked world
Do I need to explain this? :P I always get so happy from this song!

9. Fabulous/McMelodyDoll: Throw It In The Bag
This song (the parody, that is XD) is just one of the greatest songs ever :D It isn't only funny, it is a good song too! ;) 'McMelodyDoll' is one of my lolita idols.

10. Fashion - Lady Gaga
Granted, I am not a huge Lady GaGa fan, although I love the song 'Judas'. This particular song is a bit too shallow for me but on the other hand, I heard it as background music in a Lolita fashion show video and it fitted really well. So it is a bit of an inspiration for me.

10 people who inspire your lolita style

#1 Brand models and shop girls
Brands always have the best ideas to coordinate their pieces in my opinion and most of the models and shopgirls always look flawless!

#2 Maki and Asuka
I believe everyone has them as their inspiration, LOL - but understandably so, because they always look so freakin' adorable!

#3 Frytsa
She really has an interesting style (Next to sweet lolita, she also wears gothic and has tried a cyber lolita look). And sweet lolita just suits her fantastic.

#4 Fanny Rosie
She has the most amazing taste in clothes and also owns the most lovely items! She looks really elegant.
#5 Angelika/Angie
Doesn't she look breathtaking in classic lolita? I really love her style!

#6 Ashlee
She looks soo sweet in sweet lolita!

#7 Camila
I always struggle to coordinate my lolita clothes in a way that looks good... especially when there are more than two colors involved, the horror. The lolitas from Carrousel Boutique really have a good sense of coordinating.

#8 Ricardo Edwards
Isn't his sense of coordinating just fabulous?? Classic lolita suits him so well!

#9 xxApollinexx
She wears classic as well as sweet, which makes her style very versatile. And she looks stunning in both styles!

#10 My local (Dutch) lolita community
I don't have a photo of all of the girls in my local lolita community, so that's why I haven't posted any, but you  are all very inspirational both inside and outside!

10 things you can't live without in lolita fashion

#1 Inspiration
I always look at pictures on the internet to get inspired!
#2 Wigs
I was wondering lately why I always found that my outfits didn't look right and were missing something. Then I realized a wig can make a big difference, I have thin hair.
#3 Meetings
I always really enjoy them and wish I could attend/host more! Without meetings, lolita fashion would only be half the fun.

#4 Rules and guidelines
Most people don't like the lolita rules. I sometimes don't like them either because some people intepret them as too strict or not strict enough. However, it is rules and guidelines that often prevents people without much fashion sense, like me, from looking bad.
#5 Creativity
Within the limits of the lolita rules, I think there is enough room for creativity. Without creativity, outfits get boring very quickly.
#6 Makeup
When you have spend (too) much time and money on your outfit, I think you need to put some effort in the rest of your look too, otherwise it looks unfinished!
#7 Bloomers
Yes, these are essential, but I don't wear them only to avoid flashing my panties. I like long bloomers with lace that give an antique doll-look when peeking out under a skirt, and garter bloomers (I even have two pairs of garter bloomers, and maybe I'll buy another pair in the future)
#8 A petticoat
I only have this on the eighth place because sometimes I think lolita outfits can look good without a petticoat as well. For example with old school, casual and sometimes even classic lolita when the skirt is full enough by itself. However, with sweet lolita it is essential unless the skirt has a build-in petti.
#9 Knowing what looks good, and what doesn't
Seriously, what can look good on a mannequin on the internet doesn't always look good in real life or on you. I've learned this the hard way by wasting my money, and now I know what kind of things don't suit me I feel I can finally enjoy the fashion.
#10 Enough clothes
This depends on the individual. For me, 'enough' is around 10 dresses/skirts or something.

10 items from your lolita wishlist

I am prone to impulse buys; that's why I already wasted a lot of money buying lolita clothes I almost immediately regretted, only being able to sell them for around half the amount. That's why I like making a wishlist beforehand now. I think my lolita wardrobe is already quite complete, especially since I don't wear lolita all the time! But to finish it I'll still "need" the following things:

# 1. A summer dress by Victorian Maiden
I absolutely adore the brand Victorian Maiden because it's so classy yet cute and the items are of very good quality, and I already have a white shortsleeved blouse from them, so it would be super great to have a dress that matches it.

#2 A flower dress from Bodyline.
I don't have a lolita dress with flowers yet. Even though I think it is a classic essential in a lolita wardrobe. I love how flower dresses can be different styles depending on the accessoiries that go with it.

#3 St. Tears classic longsleeved op
I've always wanted a longsleeved op and this one from St. Tears (Taobao) is really pretty,I think.

#4 Metamorphose vintage record op in black
I have the high waist pinafore jsk in navy, but I'm trying to sell it because the design of the dress doesn't look right on me. Too over the top for me with all the bows, while I try to get a more mature style. However, I still really like the print and I dream of owning this version some time.

#5 A dark, longsleeved blouse by Victorian Maiden
I only have a white shortsleeved blouse from Victorian Maiden, so it would be great to own a longsleeved one in a darker color, to wear with my regimental stripe skirt and jacket.

#6 A longsleeved blouse by Innocent World in black or beige
I love IW's blouses, and I still need one to go with my IW jsk!

#7 A light colored Victorian Maiden cardigan
I love almost everything Victorian Maiden puts out, also simple designs like this. A cardigan like this would be perfect over a short sleeved blouse when it is a bit more chilly (and I think it is cold very often!).
#8 R Series (Taobao) "Antique Jane" shoes
Aren't these shoes pretty? I believe they are from real leather, and maybe with wooden soles too. That means they are probably way better quality than brand shoes, for half of the price. Normally, I don't like buying leather stuff, although I have a leather jacket. But my white lolita shoes damage so easily, it is frustrating, so better quality is kind of a must for them..

#9 Surface Spell flower headdress
OMG, I couldn't believe it when I saw them at the Surface Spell site :3 They are just like the ones from Victorian Maiden, only cheaper! I am already waiting for a few of their small ones to arrive, so I'll post a review when I get them!

#10 Innocent World barrette
The head accessoiries from IW are always so doll-like, and in black this matches my jsk perfectly.

I also have a few other things: I'd love to get me some parasols, from Victorian Maiden, Innocent World, Metamorphose and one very cute one from Ebay with kittens. However, I haven't included them in my wishlist because parasols are very "non-essential" items in my opinion that should eventually be bought to finish an outfit, but they aren't really useful outside of lolita. And I like to get more lolita coats (especially winter ones), but I also think these are better saved for last.

10 different kind of foods you like

For some reason, this is also part of the lolita meme. I don't really know why.
Anyway, the foods I like are:

#1 Vanilla yoghurt
#2 Smoothies
#3 Profiteroles (Italian cream puffs)
#4 Frites
#5 Pancakes
#6 Fresh fruits (especially pineapple)
#7 Naan (Indian bread)
#8 Sushi
#9 Pasta carbonara
#10 Tempura

10 things I love & hate about lolita fashion

 I love:
#1 The kawaiiness
#2 The frillyness
#3 The quality of the clothes
#4 Going to events
#5 Organizing events
#6 Meeting other lolitas
#7 When other people like the fashion style
#8 Gothic Lolita bibles
#9 Lolita sewing
#10 Lolita dolls

I hate:
#1 The bitchiness, spoiledness and drama in communities
#2 That imported lolita clothes are expensive
#3 That I'm not good/lazy at sewing
#4 Vain "e-famous" lolitas
#5 People scamming/overpricing in the sales community
#6 People always ignoring my outfit posts
#7 Strangers that like to vent their negative opinion
#8 The obsession with brand prints
#9 cult party kei, I think it looks boring and sloppy
#10 creepy cute, I think it looks clownish and immature
